Joy in Homabay as 200 youths leaves for vocational training in Nairobi

Tuesday, May 08, 2018- Joy in Homabay town as 200 youths who could not make it to colleges leaves for Nairobi on a full scholarship vocational training programme funded by Homabay county Affirmative action fund under the leadership of Homabay county women rep Hon. Gladys wanga.

The office of the Homabay county woman rep settled for National Industrial Training Authority(NITA) because they are the authority mandated to do the trade test, have enough facilities and will offer attachment to their trainees. No half bake training at NITA.

Some of the trainings NITA will offer these youths from Homabay include; tailoring, plumbing, welding, driving, hairdressing, Solar PV installation, mechanics… The trainings will last 3months. The criteria used to get the number was transparent and credible. Each ward produced three people, the rest were taken from all the registered “boda boda” groups across the county.

Family and friends came to see them off. Indeed,
