Machakos Governor Mutua names 7 new Cabinet nominees, retains 3

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has retained three members of his Cabinet after he made fresh nominations and appointments.

Mutua retained Ruth Mutie (Health), Naomi Mutie (Water) and Faith Wathome (Tourism). He also appointed three former ministers as his advisors.

They are Kioko Luka (Economic Affairs), Hellen Kiilu (Intergovernmental Relations) and Joshua Musili (Special Envoy, Emerging issues).

Addressing a news conference at his office, Mutua said he will be making further appointments in the coming weeks.

“I will reorganise the government to serve wananchi better and realign it to the Super Chap Chap philosophy which was the basis of my re-election,” said Mutua.

MACHAKOS CABINET APPOINTMENTS AND NOMINATIONS

In exercise of the powers conferred to me by Article 179(2) of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and Sections 30(2) (d), (e) and 35 of the County Governments Act, 2012, I have today appointed and nominated the following to be Members of the Machakos County Executive Committee in the specified portfolios.

APPOINTMENTS
1) Health and Emergency Services
Minister:Ms. Ruth Mutua Mutie
Academic Qualifications:
PhD in Public Health (Finalising)
Masters in Community Health, Clinical Medicine

2) Water, Irrigation, Environment and Natural Resources
Minister: Ms. Naomi Mutie
Academic Qualifications:
Masters in Community Health and Development

3) Tourism, Youth, Sports and Culture
Minister: Ms. Faith Wathome
Academic Qualifications:
B.A Tourism, Professional Diploma in Tourism Administration

NOMINATIONS FOR VETTING BY COUNTY ASSEMBLY

Minister: Mr. Kimeu Mbithi Kimeu

Further, in accordance with Section 32 (3) of the County Governments Act, 2012, I have assigned my Deputy Governor, Francis Maliti the responsibility of running the Finance and Economic Planning portfolio.

I will be making further appointments in the following few weeks as we re-organize the Government to serve Wananchi better and to align it to the Super Maendeleo Chap Chap philosophy which was the basis of my re-election.
